I'm third generation, so I may be a little biased, but Jacksonville really is a great place to live and raise your family. Having lived in both Chicago and Denver, you're probably a little more sick of having a view of Jacksonville in general, but I definitely think there are safe areas and ways to make the most of this super affordable beach city. The further west you go from there, the much safer it gets %26 are mostly newer subdivisions %26 older and nicer neighborhoods.
